After several years of assisting a premier dessert caterer in upstate New York, Joanne Glasgow moved to South Florida knowing that the cupcake craze sweeping the nation had not yet reached Naples, which prides itself on being progressive, upscale, and in tune with the latest trends. To test the market, Simply Cupcakes was formed and introduced at the Third Street Farmer's Market in 2006. The response was immediate and overwhelming. Although Simply Cupcakes offered a variety of flavors, the Naples Key Lime cupcake made with homemade key lime curd soon became the "signature cupcake."


Week after week, repeat customers would return raving about the cupcakes they had tasted the week before. Demand for special orders increased, and Simply Cupcakes were served at numerous upscale parties and fundraisers.
